Three of Griegs Vessel managers on the inside the engine.

Vessel Manager

With new ships coming in and old vessels needing love and care, we are looking for a new Vessel Manager to join our team. And we would love for that person to bring in new perspectives and help us build world-class ship management operations.

The commercial success of our ships boils down to safety, quality, and sustainability. Working as a Vessel Manager with us, your expertise will be vital to keeping all three criteria at a world-class level for your own small group of vessels.

Decarbonising shipping is not only about new fuels and new ships. Our existing fleet also needs to be more climate-friendly, and your work as a Vessel Manager is vital for us to achieve this.

We have just ordered four new low-emission ships from China for delivery in 2026. In addition, we have an existing fleet of 30 Open Hatch vessels of different ages and make. That means we need candidates with experience and creativity.

Your experience could be from a similar position, but also as a sailor in the merchant fleet or the navy – or from similar businesses. What matters is that you can make our vessels succeed through your technical expertise and a knack for getting the crew to deliver their best.

Grieg Star is the ship management arm of Grieg Maritime Group, a maritime company with a global reach. Our work environment is diverse, inclusive, and collaborative – with a healthy work-life balance. We believe in Sustainable Coworkership and are committed to nurturing our employees’ professional development.

Our team speak the Scandinavian languages or English, and we expect you to do the same. Your title and compensation are something we will agree on based on your experience and expertise.

You will work at Grieg Gaarden in Bergen and report to VP Fleet.
